Nordic inspired tasting menu
The hottest restaurant on the island right now, NUR would be more at home in Copenhagen than in Hong Kong. Serving only a tasting menu with no choices, each dish that comes out is perfectly plated and highlights fresh, seasonal ingredients. Like Copenhagen’s Noma, one of the best restaurants in the world, NUR grows their own herbs and sources produce locally as much as possible. Expect modern Nordic food with Asian influences, owing to the chef taking inspiration from ingredients available to him. After getting all round rave reviews from local food critics and bloggers, NUR was recently awarded its first Michelin star so make sure you call at least a week ahead to book.

"The amuse bouche sets the tone for the whole meal with three canapes dotted around a white plate, consisting of a beetroot taco with a watercress emulsion and a carrot powder to sprinkle on top" ...Full review at Fuck Yeah Noms
"With a scrupulous emphasis on the best vegetables, fish and meat available and with absolutely flawless cooking, at least when I visited, Mr. Topham produces food that’s sensationally robust without being the least bit rich" ...Full review at New York Times
"Perhaps the dish for which NUR is best known is the Egg. Here, a slow-poached Taiyouran egg sat atop a bed of mixed grain mushroom ‘porridge’, with roasted shitake mushrooms and a garlic and chive emulsion" ...Full review at The Dim Sum Diaries
