Ship Street is a little lane in the middle of Wan Chai that is now home to a handful of trendy restaurants and is a reflection of the change this area has gone through. It’s fitting that trendy British celebrity chef Jason Atherton has two places on the street; Ham & Sherry, a rustic tapas bar serving over 50 types of sherry, and 22 Ships, a more contemporary take on tapas with Asian influences. Think sea bass with XO dressing and scallop ceviche with yuzu and Chinese radish. Go early to avoid waiting (their policy is no reservations, no service charge), grab a seat at the window and watch the trendy diners of Ship Street go by. Afterwards, wander down to Back Bar, the bar at the back of Ham & Sherry, for some innovative cocktails.
Crispy oysters and scallop ceviche to start, you can't look past the baked bone marrow and foie gras burgers, and anything on the daily specials.
