Copenhagen Guide

In a word: Noma. Known as one of the best restaurants in the world, Noma and its chef René Redzepi has had a huge impact on food over the last decade. So come for Noma, but....unless you have planned months in advance, you most likely won't get in. But don't fret, Noma's influence is all around Copenhagen. Ex Noma chefs have opened up their own restaurants and you can now dine Noma-style in many places around town. And they are really good...no, we mean, really really good. Amass, Radio, Pony and Bror are four places that you can get into and if you come you'll be rewarded with world-class food. Or you can really go crazy and try Kiin Kiin, arguably the best modern Thai food in the world. Even if you don't want a fancy fine dining set menu, the hotdogs and traditional Danish lunches with beer and schnapps are worth coming for alone. Add all that to the colorful buildings and abstract city design that belongs in an LSD-ridden artist's head, and you have a city that is the ultimate weekend city escape. Hire a bike and join the locals as they cycle through their 'happy' lives, laze on a ferry, eat great food, drink schnapps, and it's easy to see why Copenhagen ranks as one of the best places to live in the world.
